About Aman Gada

Growing up in both the United States and India, it amazes me how the ways of living and
ideologies are diametrically opposed. Being born in India, then moving to the United States, then moving back to India, and then recently moving back to the United Sates, I gained a perspective on how both countries form a dichotomy not only culturally but also psychologically. My work exposes these realities to better comprehend and document the diversity of both emotionally driven countries.

This culture shock has put me on the edge of discovery and discomfort. These
observations have helped me grow individually and granted me the freedom to express and understand these feelings by being objective, without being judged or being judgmental. Making work about these two complex societies helps me better digest the conceptual reality we live in.

As a photographer based in the United States, my work has definitely been influenced
by the American culture, but at the same time I do not want to forget about my roots. My series of work is based from my homeland, a unique scenery which will always be embedded within me.
