About the Artist:

Jeanie Montgomery has had a passion for art since childhood. She has been at her canvas creating amazing work for over 25 years. She studied techniques under many notable UT artists including, Mark Goodson, Diana Turner, Donna Kearney & John Poon. She paints whatever makes her happy, skiers schussing down Snowbasin, portraits and bucking broncos, but her real talent comes from the coffee cup! Her coffee paintings of horses convey the rich brown tones that leads to the creation of her unique beautiful images. So come in for a cup of Joe and enjoy these distinctive paintings. When she is not hiking or spending quality time with her family you can find her at a canvas in her studio in Huntsville.

or just for Fun?

Artist History

Born on a mountain top in Tennessee… Oh, wait, that was Davy Crockett. I was really born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah—after 5 years of college in the 1960s at the University of Utah with quarter of school to go, I discovered I could draw and paint. The art department there had a condensed study of art on an extended road trip to Mexico, and I jumped at the chance. We ate, slept and breathed art 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It was an eyeopening experience, and I grew as an artist. But I didn’t want to stay in school for another 3 or 4 years only to become a waiter like the rest of my art student friends. Instead, I earned my degree in Sociology. I wanted to save the world, but instead I became a ski bum, baker, and ski lodge photographer.
